During the summer of 1975, the Brown sisters started a family tradition that would last forty years, resulting in a published book and an exhibition at New York's Museum of Modern Art this November. For forty years, Heather, Mimi, Bebe and Laurie Brown posed in a black and white photograph taken by Nicholas Nixon (husband of Bebe Brown). The sisters never planned outfits for the photos ahead of time and merely gazed into the camera each year, their poses and outfits reflective of their moods that day. A series of beautiful, raw photos emerged showing the sisters's transformation and bond throughout the years.
